Hello my freaky darlings!!
Happiest of Birthdays to this most incredible collective of deviousness!!
(in the vernacular-)
HAPPY NINTH BIRTHDAY DA!!!
You don't look a day over 3
*clears throat for speech*
I joined DA when it was only the tender age of 5.
**EDIT*** Well, thanks to the beautiful
**/edit***
Even then, back when the deviations tally counter still ran at the top of the front page, and there were no polls or CSS or skins or customizable journals or stamps, it was a place where I felt I could find communion with other artists and individuals who saw the world a LOT like I did.
*insert the sappy violin and the oscar style speech presenting  *
DeviantArt has been a virtual home online for me. I am constantly amazed by the community connection, the help and support that deviants give one another when they're in need. Not only that, but as I've said before...DeviantArt is like going to a new art museum every day. The scope and range of mediums and words and talent is so awe-inspiring that it makes me wonder why the world isn't more peaceful and lovely for all of you being in it...and then i blink, smack my head and say "DUH, Cindy...the world IS more peaceful and lovely for all your deviousness.(and despite all the dArama)"
I've made such incredible friends here, connecting over our shared love of art (and oddly enough, random quotes from obscure movies, connection of spiritual wealth, debates over the nature of the universe and the basic love of the quirky and the weird). You friends out there, it feels like I've known you all since we were kids...and in a world like ours today, I know that's something special and precious, and I am beyond grateful for it.
To me DeviantArt is made of:
Parsnips and sewing machines, motherboards and duct tape, nearly-dead ink pens and prismatic colors, genders across all lines, hard labor moving boxes and and a book of song lyrics never giving up your goals, metaphysical connectivity and the eating of suns, Bandians and atonements, cheese and hot sauce and late night chats, smokin-hot smexy thigh-high latex boots, ships sailing the distant seas, the bones of the earth and the soul of the skies around the globe, coffee grounds and wax and ironing boards, glass tiles and clockwork gears, fimo clay, jelly beans, bright lights and body paint, dreams, beauty, life and love.
What a wonderful recipe.
So, let us lift our emote stress balls and tip our DAcaps to the Fella and the Llama and to the echelons on high for DA...because we freaks have found each other, and dammit all if that just ain't the sweetest thing ever.
Here's to many happy returns of the day!
love to you all, my blossoms
